Resumen

Señor Editor. A estas alturas de la pandemia por COVID-19, no es sorprendente hablar del impacto que esta tiene sobre todas las esferas de nuestras vidas. En esta ocasión me gustaría referirme a un área un tanto inexplorada en medicina, el sueño, que también se ha visto muy afectado.


El sueño es un componente esencial de nuestras vidas y cualquier alteración de este puede resultar en graves problemas de salud física y mental. Es un estado notoriamente fácil de alterar, ya que puede afectarse por patologías sistémicas y por situaciones de importante estrés, incluyendo desastres naturales o guerras. Por supuesto, la pandemia es una situación de esta naturaleza.
